Correct road data with accurate connectivity models is critical foundation for effective road asset management. Many transportation organizations and road network development authorities grapple with the challenges of maintaining up to date road network information. Having accurate and up to date information on the road network is also critical for road safety.

In our experience, developed countries have advanced road transportation infrastructure, but they struggle to maintain data on their networks. In emerging markets where road networks are being developed, there is an opportunity for governments and transportation departments to learn lessons from developed countries and develop a strategy to create and maintain road network data models at an early stage.
